Only three weeks into 2022 and brands are already bringing out the big guns. Here’s our top 3 for this week:
1.Number one has got to be TikTok trainspotter star Francis Bourgeois featuring in Gucci x The North Face campaign. The exclusive collaboration presented by streetwear site Highsnobeity captured the hearts of the nation. With 2.1 million fans on TikTok, Francis certainly has the reach. But that’s not what makes this campaign so great. Francis’ loveable demeanour and passion for train spotting has propelled him into stardom and Gucci x The North Face was quick to act upon it. Not only did they give us all a ‘surprise and delight’ element, but the video is a real celebration of Francis’ uniqueness —– 5 stars from us!
2.Ok this one is a tear-jerker, hold onto your seats. For the launch of the Netflix series After Life, benches have been placed around the UK to encourage more people to talk about grief. In partnership with the charity CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably), the benches, which read ‘Hope is Everything’ are a reminder for those dealing with mental health issues of the importance of talking. Each After Life bench also features a QR code directing people to online resources for help. I love the simplicity of this campaign and its tie to a tangible cause with CALM.
3.Twitter launched this week an out-of-home campaign dedicated to celebrities’ affirmation tweets – that actually came true. Featuring on 39 billboards across the US, the tweets featured Megan Thee Stallion, Niall Horan, Demi Lovato, and many more. My personal favourite is Nial Horan’s tweet ‘applied for xfactor…hope it all works out’. Note to self… start a manifestation journal.
